Description:
New Center Ig is a decisive move in the revitalization of a chaotic and derelict village center in the immediate vicinity of Ljubljana. The building creates a vibrant and diverse focus of everyday activities and a meeting place for local residents. The urban design is a result of the morphological pattern of the typical farmhouses, perpendicular to the road, with steep pitched roofs and detached volumes. Two buildings that are connected with a bridge and continuous roof , form the street and create a small village market with a tree. The ground floor hosts pharmacy, bank and bar, on the first floor there is a medical centre and on the second a library with underground parking in the basement.
