In pursuit of quick and easy construction on the poor supporting marsh soil a light, wooden prefabricated construction was chosen. We recalled upon a rich tradition of building with wood on the Ljubljana marsh areas, which is characterized by black, tar-protected timber. Honey colored wood changes to black where houses show their ‘interior’- in niches, loggias and entrance areas. The horizontal dinamic of the long and narrow site is interrupted with a vertical, tower-like volume of the second unit that enables residents spectacular 360 views. Small neighbourhood of four connected units tend to bring urban order into a chaotic suburbia.
